Perago Trust grant recipient Rueben Webster gives an update on his training and competition.
I wanted to thank you for your support in helping me achieve my goals during the track season at T-Town Pennsylvania.
I arrived in June following a touch of Covid-19 and was unsure how my break in training and health would affect my results. After a slow introduction back into racing, my goals started to be achieved.
During the UCI racing part of the season, where Elite, Olympians and Commonwealth Games Athletes enter, I was delighted to take a 4th in the Elite Keirin and followed this with a Bronze medal in the U23 Elite Keirin.
Later in the season I also participated in the Pro-Am section gaining many wins and trying out new race techniques.
The knowledge and experience I have gained during this trip is just huge and to be surrounded by athletes who have helped me along the way and given their time has been priceless.
I am looking forward to the rest of the year with new challenges and goals which will help me reach my full potential.
